Isaac has started preschool in the mornings everyday. He has an IEP in speech because of his hearing. He has been talking so much more and pronunciating his words a lot better since he has begun speech therapy. I am sad to see him leave on the bus each morning, but his smile when he comes home just makes me melt!

Adam turned one last Wednesday!
He loved the attention and stuffed his face with that cupcake fast! He has been trying to walk around lately and has taken ten steps in a row yesterday. He loves most any food and his favorite word is "uh oh". Cali and Isaac love to play with him and Adam can handle most of Isaac's wrestling now. Adam definately knows when he is being taken advantage of now, and lets it known when a toy has been taken away from him. He really does not like to be changed or dressed and has been tantruming loud to let us know. I love it when he cuddles in my arms and sucks his thumb. He also will put his head on my shoulder when he's tired. He is my adorable little one year old!

Cali just got her first CTR ring in primary class last week and she was very excited!She said, "Mom! this will help me choose the right!" Later at home she came up to her dad and said, "I don't like this OLD ring, it doesn't work. Isaac was bothering me and I went to hit him and it didn't stop me."

Trick or treating....

This is Adam's classic scrunch face.

Adam is crawling everywhere these days, in the bathrooms, into the toilets, rolling down the toilet paper, crawling up the stairs, and even climbing on top of the little kids table. He even has his first tooth finally growing in. I love Adam's cute faces that he makes and when he scrunches up his nose. His laugh is contagious, and he loves to be chased now. Adam sleeps all through the night and takes a nice two hour nap in the morning and an hour nap in the afternoon. He absolutely loves food, and would love to eat all day long if he could. He even loves to eat the wood chips at the park like Isaac loved at this age too.

Isaac is doing so good at potty training so far, I am crossing my fingers that he continues to love going in the potty. He will even go when I don't know and come running to say that he gets another candy. Yes, he gets to choose a piece of his Halloween candy every time he goes in the potty. I always find a little pee on the floor because he misses still, but hey, at least it's close to the toilet. Tonight, right before he was going to go to bed, he took off his diaper three times to go pee in the toilet all by himself. I couldn't believe it.

He is growing up. Even though he still speaks in two word sentences, and sometimes three, he is still my smart boy! After getting tubes put in his ears, he has been talking a lot more. How he pronounces his words are still hard to understand and very unclear. I am having a speech therapist evaluate him. I am really excited to see some progress coming especially since he will be in sunbeams in January. Isaac is just so lovable! He is always quick to forgive, say sorry, and share. I am so blessed to have him in my family!

Cali has wanted to grow up to be a fairy when she was three, then to be a ballerina when she started dance class, and now it's a cake decorator. She loves to spend time coloring, learning, playing house with her friends, and finding new outfits to wear. Oh, and we can't forget how much she loves to bake with her Mom and Dad.

She really loved helping me make cupcakes for the Halloween party! She is definitely a GIRL!

.....couldn't have been any more fun than this! A petting zoo, jumpy houses inside, cafts, face painting, and even Ronald Mcdonald was there!

Spending our last few days outside..... the kids had too much fun on that fountain and I'm surprised no one fell in.

Isaac is such a cute spunky kid! He loves to play around, tease, and his knew thing is wearing his backpack with scissors inside that he will take out and start cutting for hours. This week we are working on pottytraining! yeahhhh. Lets all cross our fingers. I can't beleive he will be three in a couple of months.

Adam is crawling now! He really follows me around the house, it's so cute when he isn't fussing at the same time. He sure loves to crawl after whatever Cali or Isaac is playing with at the time. I sure love him so much!

This whole last week, Scotty took the week off from work and my mother-in-law came up to visit as well! It's been so much fun, I wished it would never end. We visited the apple orchard where we could sip apple cider and see some farm animals, went raspberry picking, went to the zoo, and did lots of shopping.

I made Scotty one of his favorite dinners, lettuce wraps, and his favorite German chocolate cake for dessert!
The kids were so excited to say happy birthday when dad got home from work. Right after Cali yelled Happy Birthday, Isaac jumped up as said, "surprise"! It was so cute to see how excited he was! Cali had been drawing Dad pictures for his birthday for a week now. And was so excited to give him her present. My favorite part about birthdays is to see how excited the kids get!
Scotty is now 32 years old! We are all so very excited to have him around. We can't get enough of his time at home and I feel blessed to have him be my husband, friend, and the father of our children! We love you Scotty!

Cali's first day of preschool was this morning. I taught today and Cali was so excited! Isaac pretended he was in it too! He even went looking for his backpack that we have for play. It all went well and all the kids did a super job!

Everything was going well, until later Isaac got a fever, and threw up all over, and Adam got an ear infection. What a day!

The tubes are in!

Yes, Isaac had tubes put in his ears today. The surgery was at 8:30 this morning and I was so glad that Scotty was able to come too! The night before we practiced playing doctor with Isaac and having a mask on him since he would have to be put out. As we were waiting for them to take him back for the surgery, the Anesthesiologist saw Isaac being his same active self, and suggested giving him some meds to calm him a bit. When they finally kicked in, our normal jumpety Isaac who already had gotten into everything he could have around him, became a drunk Isaac and Scotty and I could not stop laughing at how he just stopped moving around so much and started staring into outer space. And when he smiled it was like a half drunken smile. It really was too funny to see him that way. And so Isaac did really great and the surgery lasted about ten minutes long. They simply cut a small incision in both ear drums and placed small tubes inside. He is doing great now and already is telling me that things are too loud. That's a good sign. It was quite humorous when they called us back to get Isaac as he was still waking up from the anesthesia. He was crying and whaling back and forth hysterically like he was way out of it, but awake enough to cry. Finally he calmed down a bit and fell back asleep as Scotty carried him out to the car. We sure love our Isaac and am excited to see his hearing test go from 15% in each ear to perfect hearing! Also, I am hoping that his speech will improve as well! Thanks Adriene for watching my two other kids, you are the best!

Adam is 7 months now and is just barely starting to gain some interest in trying to crawl. It's quite cute and he also loves to make funny faces when he gets excited. It really makes us laugh when he does it. Cali was trying to make the face too, but I really don't think anyone can imitate Adam's faces.

Tiny Tot Olympics

This year Isaac was able to join in on this fun event that Canton puts on.
They had 8 events set up at Heritage park of football,basketball,frisbee,golf, soccer, gymnastics, track, and baseball. When you complete each one they stamp your paper and when you complete them all, you get a medal. The kids loved it!

I love it when your baby will still sit in the stroller and watch everyone swim for a while.

Cali always wants to be in the bathroom with me when I am putting my make-up on so she can help put some on me. The other day I was in a hurry and I said you can't help me today because I'm afraid I might not be able to get ready in time. She then said, (while holding up the eyeshadow), " Don't worry mom, just think about how the party will be as I put this on." I don't know where she came up with that one but it made me laugh.

Last night we had very loud thunder all night long and at 1:00am we heard Isaac running to our room crying and he said, "BOOM BOOM, ahhhh, hide!" And then he jumped right in our bed and hid under the covers. It was so cute, even though I was soo tired, I let him stay in bed for awhile. That was the first time I knew he was scared about something. Isaac is a two year old that usually shows no fear!

I don't know if I should dare begin potty training Isaac yet, however, the other day at the church, Isaac was missing and after searching for him I thought to check in the bathroom. He was sitting on the toilet going poo. He didn't take off his diaper and I wasn't going to complain.

Swimming all summer long.....

Adam is all ready to swim waiting for his brother and sister. He really loves the pool and just laughs and kicks his legs when we get in together!

Here we are on our way to the pool. It really takes us about 45minutes to get all three ready and finally out the door.

Cali took swim lessons from an amazing swim teacher named Rachel, and now she is swimming with out her floaties all over the pool! I love it, minus the "Watch me mommy" every ten seconds.

Isaac could be at the pool all day long and never realize that I have left with Cali and Adam. He just swims all over with his floaties and loves to find other kids' toys to play with. He also forgets when I take his floaties off and will jump right in and not even know that he had just drowned. He is so funny!

Temple

Cali is learning so much this year in Sunbeams and recently it's been about temples. Our ward went to the temple and the primary presidency put together an awesome afternoon filled with fun for our kids while we got to do a session at the temple. They took pictures of each primary kid touching the temple. Cali told me she is planning on going to the temple when she gets older and also says she will be marrying her friend Owen.

Isaac loved to be outside the whole trip and could not get enough of collecting sticks wherever we went. Here was the trail of tears where the saints left to head west.
Here we visited the Kirtland temple.

I was so sad to leave because it was so much fun to be with family and not have to cook or clean for awhile. Also, seeing Nauvoo for the first time and getting to see inside the Nauvoo Temple was really a wonderful experience for me.

Last night I had a little discussion with Cali about being nice to her little brother Isaac. I told her that I make mistakes too sometimes and how we are all learning together on how to be nice. I asked her what I could do to be a better mother and she said, "Well, just don't do timeout anymore. But Isaac can still go to timeout when he hits."

I love how a four year old's little mind works and how they are just taking it all in so fast. Cali makes me laugh all the time!

Husband of the Year!

Scotty gets the husband of the year award, and let me explain why. Last December I was so nervous about having a third child with Scotty being in residency and gone all the time, Isaac being a wild child, and just being able to live through these winters here in Michigan. I knew Scotty would be helpful but I didn't expect him to: Make the dinners almost every night he can get home early Finish the laundry with me when he gets home Put the kids to bed every night he's home Help with with the dishes after dinner every night Do all the grocery shopping And still find time to bake yummy wheat bread every week! I don't know exactly how to put this, but I am pretty sure that I have the best man out there. The Lord knew what he was doing when he let me know that Scotty was someone I should not let go. I am truly grateful for him!

The other day I was on the computer with Cali and she always surprises me with what she can do already on the computer and I said, "Cali, you are so smart." Cali then replied, "You are just saying that Mommy." Where did she come up with that?

I always ask Cali if she will do me a favor, and then ask her to help me with something, usually putting something of hers away. Now, Cali asks me to do her a favor and then says something random that needs to be put away in the house. Who is the mom here?

I love the age of 4 years old, it is my favorite so far! Cali has been asking me questions all the time for quite awhile now, but she has recently started asking me more serious questions, like, where do babies come from. I told her that Heavenly Father brought her to me, and I'm pretty sure I will leave it at that for now.

Cali is four years old now and I'm loving it! She loves to play pretend and her favorite computer game is dress-up. She asks to have a friend over every day and is learning so much in her preschool group. She is growing up right before my eyes! I love her so much, especially when she says, "Mommy, I love you." The other day, she said, "I need some Mommy time." I love when she says that, because then I can stop cleaning the house, take a break, and sit down and play dollhouse with her. We have a blast together and I feel so blessed to have a daughter as precious as my Cali!

Cali had her first friend party! She loves all her friends here in Michigan. The other day she cried just thinking about how she will miss them when we move back to Arizona.

Adam's baby blessing was last Sunday. The blessing was beautiful and so was Adam. Even though his diaper was showing as Scotty hurried him up in front as I was still changing him in the nursing room when they had announced it time for the blessing. It was a close call. Everything worked out and we were so blessed to have Mom and Dad Salmon come up for the event and stay with us. We love having family around so much because we don't get enough living here in Michigan. Adam is chunking up and I am learning his little cues more and more each day. Life is getting easier!

It's been so nice to have my mother-in-law here with me to help with the new baby and the kids. I also had my mom here earlier to help and I don't know what I would have done with out them here? Adam was born 7 pounds 15 ounces on January 18th at 10am! Six days early and boy was I glad! He came out healthy and screaming, with a good set of lungs. We are so blessed to have him home with us happy and doing great!

If anyone is wondering how crazy 22month old boys act, here is how my couple of days have been with Isaac:

cleaning up poured out oats, pretzels, raisins, or anything else in the pantry
fixing fake flower pots with all the pedals pulled off
picking up the knocked down kitchen table chairs five times
cleaning up my make-up smeared all over our carpet
repeatedly telling Isaac not to scratch, hit, or take Cali's toys and run
getting Isaac down from the counters
wiping up a huge soap mess when the soap dispenser had been pushed down way too many times
cleaning up pee from hopping right out of the tub
cleaning off poop hands from sticking them in his poopy diaper to show me
getting Isaac to open the door when he locked himself in with my keys inside,
and now climbing out of his crib when he doesn't want to go to bed (can't open doors yet) and I'm crossing my fingers he never learns.

And when is that magical age when they start listening to you? Really, I want to know.

The other day I gave Cali her dinner plate and she looked at it, rested her head on her hand, and said, "oh yuckers".

Today I was explaining to Cali that my friend Angie will be taking her to preschool in the morning and she said, "oh, is it because her car is bigger and the fastest?"

I had been explaining to Cali about Heavenly Father's plan for us lately and I think she has it down because she asked me the other day, "where will we go first mom, live back in AZ with our cousins or live with Jesus in Heaven?"

I know there are plenty more that I can't remember now. She just says the cutest things all the time and I just love that little three year old so so much. I really don't want her to get any older. I love how she is always telling stories that she likes to make up with her imagination and sings random songs about nothing. She always wants to know the schedule of the day and when she can invite a friend over. She is learning to play with Isaac a little better now the he is getting older and he just adores playing with her and teasing her when she doesn't give him attention.
She loves going to church to see her friends and loves to explain to me what she learns in nursery and preschool! She is my angel.

Cali was so excited to have her Grandma Jones, Aunt Sara, and two cousins, Brielle and Brooke to come and stay with us for awhile! The weather was perfect and beautiful every day! We enjoyed going to the Apple Orchard in Plymouth and visiting the animals, going on a hay ride, picking a pumpkin, and drinking their yummy apple cider!

Carving pumpkins time with cousins is always the best!

We sure will miss having our family around and was so glad to have them stay with us. When Brielle was telling Cali that she was going to have to go now back to Arizona, Cali gave her a hug and said, it's ok Brielle, I will still love you!

Isaac is getting so big now, I can't believe how much he's grown!
He runs all day and sleeps all night. I love him so much! He makes me laugh all the time with his energy and fun loving spirit!
Isaac is 22 months old soon to be two in December!

Here we are eating chocolate chip cookies for Scotty's birthday! Friday night we went out to PF Changs! It was so yummy again and we have enjoyed going out and having a night with just the two of us! This weekend with we have enjoyed watching movies on the new clear play Scotty got for his birthday! It's been lot's of fun.

Yes, my sweet partner in crime has turned 31 years old. I can't believe that. We have been married for five years already and I don't feel like we've quite hit the thirties. My dear husband has been the best to me these five years of marriage! He really is the coolest guy I know who can......

-talk to anybody about anything and everything
-fix anything around the house without complaining
-bake delicious homemade bread
-pick out a cute outfit for me
-have fun making dinner with me
-enjoy reading a good book
-get excited about giving a talk in church and speak very well
-come home from a long day at the hospital and still help me clean up the kitchen
-talk on the phone with family for hours
-make jerky for me when I am craving it
-come with me on a date night every Friday night to keep up our close relationship!

As I look back on my journey of Motherhood, I can't help but smile when I see my two sweet children that Heavenly Father has so willingly given into my hands to nurture. They are still so young, yet have learned so much already. Now that another boy is coming to the family in January, it makes me even more excited and anxious. I love children oh so much!!!!

The Salmon family is announcing that now we have a third bundle of joy on the way, and it's a............

Cheesecake ice cream baby!!

Well the Chinese Calendar said it was a boy.....
The ever accurate and scientific Ring Test said a boy (FOLLOWED BY GIRL, THEN BOY IF YOU ARE WONDERING)

So, we changed things around a little this time. It was Jenny's chance to find out first and order the ice cream. Well she has been craving cheesecake for awhile. So, we decided that Jenny would choose Cheesecake for either the boy or the girl, and she chose to follow the odds with the Chinese and the Ring. So this time, cheesecake is boy, sweet cream is girl. So, Isaac will have a brother, and Cali is hoping the ultrasound was wrong.

Cali will eventually realize how cute he is and love him to death!
Isaac didn't know what was going on but was loving the ice cream and licked every last drop off the table.

We are excited here in Michigan!!!

A couple of nights ago I heard crying from Cali's room in the middle of the night. I walked upstairs and said what's wrong as I felt wet pee all over her bed. Cali must have been a little out of it because she pointed to her tears and said, "My tears made me all wet. I had to laugh cause this was the first time she had wet the bed, and she really did think that it was her tears that made her all wet.

Tommorrow is Cali's last day of swim lessons and she has learned so much. She loves that she is with her freinds and gets so excited to go every morning. She always asks, before she goes to bed, what is going on the next day. Her face always lights up when I say swim lessons with her friends!

Summer 2010

This summer has been fun swimming, going to birthday parties, and most of all doing what ever we want! Cali has grown up so much and loves to quote movies. She will say, "I can hear you but I can't see ya!" That's what Pete says on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She also likes to finish my sentences with, "Alright Alright Alright". Her favorite things to do this summer are, play with friends, color/paint, and help mom around the house.

My little Isaac isn't so little anymore. He defenitely thinks he is just as big as Cali now. He loves to go swimming, try to get Cali to chase him, and loves loves to tease the heck out of her! It's so funny and I really should'nt laugh when Cali get's so upset. He is in nursery now and although he still doesn't do what everybody else does, atleast he doesn't cry anymore when we leave. He loves to laugh and smile all the time, I love that boy!

Cali has graduated from Joy School! She loved being with her freinds and singing new song, making all sorts of activity pages and best of all..... Snack Time! I would always ask her what she did and she never missed mentioning what she ate for snack.

Our little family went on our first vacation to see some church history sites while living in Michigan. We first went to Ohio, stopped at the Toledo Zoo and then continued driving to Kirtland.

We then stopped to see the Kirtland Temple and enjoyed looking inside to see how it was built.

This is the upstairs room of Newel K. Whitney's storehouse where they had the school of the prophets and where the word of wisdom revelation was given.

The next day we drove to Palmyra and went to see the Sacred Grove which was just beautiful and these pictures are taken the day it didn't rain, which was nice. We stayed at the Palmyra Inn which was quite comfy and close to everything we wanted to see.

Isaac likes to say "uh oh" after throwing his food down. He even genuinely acts like he didn't mean to do it. I think thats why it makes me laugh and I know it shouldn't.

My Mother turned 52 yesterday and is still so young and fun! She livens up every room she walks in and is a forever friend to everyone she meets! I love her so much!

One morning I made cinnamon and sugar toast for Cali and Isaac and when Cali took a bite she said, (with a disgusted look on her face), "Mom, this isn't cooked". I then said, "No, I put it in the toaster, it's cooked". She then kept chewing for a bit, and said, "You didn't cook it". I then tasted it, and quickly spit it out. It was so gross! I had used salt instead of sugar. (Poor Cali). I then looked over at Isaac's toast and he had thrown his on the floor.

Somehow, this sweet innocent little boy has turned into this a wild boy who runs around all day destroying everything in our house and grabbing, pushing, hitting, and throwing anything that looks fun! It's all fun and games untill someone gets hurt and you bet there is an incredibly tired mother at the end of each day. And then, you can't ignore the fact that it's all madness while he is smiling and laughing at the same time. Those cute little giggles seem to keep me sane while he has been trying to drink out of the toilet water. All I can say is, 8months more to go before he turns two!

Cali's growing up so much! I can't believe she is three years old already. She loves to play with her friends, sing songs, and help me around the house! Cali is so curious, she asks me questions all day long about everything. She also is very good at remembering what I tell her. I love to see her smiling and playing with her brother Isaac, even when he doesn't play nicely. She is my happy little girl!
